February is the shortest month of the year, so we need to pump as much art and music into our veins as we can. January albums brought us some real winners, including the highly acclaimed new The Weeknd album. February looks like a big month for indie music and also the British Isles.
February 7

Inhaler – Open Wide
Inhaler has been gatekept from the world by the Europeans and its time to give them their flowers. With their third studio album, I’m hoping more people will take notice of this Irish rock band!
Olly Alexander – Polari
If you’re on my side of TikTok/Reels, you’ll have seen Brian Jordan Alvarez dancing to “Breathe” to promote his show English Teacher. So I feel like I owe it to Olly to listen to Polari. This is his first solo album after the dissolution of his band Years and Years.

Sharon Van Etten – Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory
The 7th album from Sharon Van Etten will be bringing us all the husky indie vibes for February. With such a long discography already, it will be interesting to see what she brings to the table for this latest album.
February 14
Alessia Cara – Love & Hyperbole
Canadian darling Alessia Cara is back with her fourth album, and releasing a pop/R&B album on Valentine’s Day is exactlyyy what we all needed.

Richard Dawson – End of the Middle
This one is for the folk freaks out there (me). Seriously, Richard Dawson’s music is not for the faint of heart – just check out his 41 minute long song “The Hermit”.
Saint Motel – Saint Motel & the Symphony in the Sky
Funky indie vibes are in full supply with Saint Motel’s music, and if you haven’t listened to anything other than “My Type”, I highly recommend giving their albums a full listen. And what better than this new release!

The Lumineers – Automatic
These folk rock legends of industry need no introduction. One of my all time favourite bands is back with their 5th album. Their distinct cinematic sound will be arriving soon with some contemplations and critiques around the modern world.
February 21
Sam Fender – People Watching
The Geordie boy is back and ready to flex his musical maturity with his 3rd full length album. Bringing British rock attitude to a modern pop/indie rock audience, Sam Fender is one to watch.

The Wombats – Oh! The Ocean
Liverpool indie rock collective The Wombats are back for their 6th studio album Oh! The Ocean. I became a fan of their work after listening to Fix Yourself, Not the World so best believe I will be seated for this new release!
February 28
serpentwithfeet – GRIP SEQUEL
The extended cut of the 2024 release GRIP from R&B breakout serpentwithfeet. GRIP took a more pop flair to his distinctive style and we’re looking forward to hearing some new tracks!

Anything missing? Let me know what you’re listening to this February!
